| HD space | 1.5Gb HD space (plus additional space for project files). Nothing less than 1Tb (if you are specifiying a new machine purchase) makes any sense nowadays if you are storing a lot of data locally. If you are storing to your server however, a lower capacity drive will be in order. Transfer rate and spin speed -v- budget. A lot of new machines now come specified with solid state drives (SSD). These deliver faster Windows and Program load times. Consider converting existing machines to SSD over traditional hard drives for better performance. |
